Built to Support — Not Replace
The Conservation & Discovery Center is envisioned first as a place for education and awareness — helping people understand the Indian River Lagoon, the work already underway and how we can build a healthier future together.
Project Lagoon has a focused field mission: using technology to survey, identify, document and map submerged debris and support its authorized recovery.
Beyond our own work, many of the laboratories, testing areas, technology, fabrication capabilities, equipment, data systems and other resources shown throughout this vision are intended to help SUPPORT the organizations, researchers, businesses, agencies, universities and conservation professionals already doing important work.
Images of living shorelines, habitat structures, wave-reduction technologies, restoration work, prototypes and other conservation solutions illustrate capabilities the Center could help research, test, monitor, prototype or support.
They do NOT mean Space Coast Water Sweep intends to replace the organizations or businesses already doing that work or reproduce proprietary technologies.
Where appropriate, qualifying nonprofit organizations could potentially access certain Center resources at little or no cost, with availability, responsibilities and terms determined individually for each collaboration.
